Duce Construction Corporation

Nadia and Tom

Dear Barbara + family,

I wanted to share this info with you ie. regarding my contractor, Duce Construction I first learned about them through the October ’05 issue of This Old House magazine, “Best Contractors in America.” I thought, “I probably can’t afford them,” but I had 3 plans for bidding.

My phone call was returned in several hours. Rory, the owner, would be in Brooklyn the next day, at a christening for a baby; he had built the parents’ home. A good sign, I thought. We met the following day. He was so wonderful in his calm, laid back, intelligent way. He was a bundle of knowledge and he taught us along the way. Within 5 days he was back with an army. They converged on the house all evaluating together- plumbers, masons, electricians, carpenters- they already were in sync, AMAZING. We had interviewed & received bids from several other contractors, all highly recommended. Once meeting Rory and his team we felt we had no choice. He was the (gentle) man for the job! It was just how it had to be!!! Yes, the bid was bit more pricey but it has been worth every single penny!

My parents always say, “When you do it the right way, you only cry once!” We’ve whimpered a bit at the cost but we are getting our money’s worth and more! We are blessed! Once the contract was signed they mobilized within 10 days. They work 6 days a week, 7:30AM-6PM. WE have a minimum of 18 people working most days! (Minimum of 12 other days) The workers are respectful of us and the neighbors. They broom sweep the sidewalk at the end of each day. We have a foreman assigned to the job. He’s there every day.

We have a project manager who comes to the site a few times per week. Every Thursday we have a project meeting on site with minutes from the previous week’s meeting! Rory is always there and available to take our calls at any time. We have had some tough challenges caused by tough neighbors. I know Tom and I met this lovely Indian Lady yesterday. Her name was Vindia. She said her name meant “mountains of blessings.”

We sincerely wish you all “Mountains of Blessings” with your new home and its construction.
Please call if we can help in any way! Congratulations!
